About Ann Arbor, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Ann Arbor, Michigan was incorporated as a village in 1833 when the Ann Arbor Land Company set aside 40 acres of undeveloped land and presented it to the state as a possible site of the state capital, but lost the bid to Lansing. In But, the property was accepted as the site of the University of Michigan when it moved from Detroit! And, it is safe to say that the town and the school have come together to build a beautiful and family-friendly community full of a wide range of diverse residents.  The cold winters and warm springs and summers allow for constantly changing seasonal weather that creates new landscapes practically monthly. Plus, the community is safe, small and beautiful.

One of the best places to watch the seasons change is along the many beautiful shores and waterways that you will find the area. There is no shortage of lakes, ponds, rivers and more. Along the Huron River, you will find thirteen recreation areas. There are 24 major tributaries and hundreds and hundreds of miles of shoreline.  The former Native American trade route passes through the following counties:

  • Oakland
  • Livingston
  • Washtenaw
  • Wayne
  • Monroe

Culturally, there is so much to do, especially because of the school. Quite a few performing arts groups and facilities are on the University of Michigan's university grounds. There are also many museums devoted to art, science, history and more. The University Musical Society is an autonomous performing arts association that puts on over 60 events per year and Shakespeare in the Arb puts on Shakespeare each June when the weather is perfect for a play in the park downtown.  Other arts groups include the Ann Arbor Civic Theatre, the Arbor Opera Theater, the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, the Ann Arbor Ballet Theater, the Ann Arbor Civic Ballet, and the Performance Network Theatre.[84]You may also notice around town that there are fairy doors- they are installation art pieces by local artists.
