About Howell, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Howell is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan with a total population around 10,000. It is neither large nor small and is the county seat of Livingston County, which has a population of about 200,000.  Livingston County was platted in 1833 and then formally organized in 1836.  Livingston County's setting in Southeast Michigan makes it convenient to the major urban centers of Detroit, Lansing, Ann Arbor, and Flint.  Composed mainly of bedroom communities for those aforementioned bigger cities, the county is a quiet and peaceful escape from the big city hustle and bustle. The area’s seasonal weather allows for a wide variety of fun activities for families both in the larger metropolises and in the smaller suburbs.

Howell is actually home to numerous festivals celebrated throughout the year. The Michigan Challenge Balloonfest is likely its most famous and occurs every year in late June. The warm weather allows for fun activities like:

  • balloon launches
  • fireworks
  • crafts
  • mini carnival

Also noteworthy is the "Legend of Sleepy Howell" the weekend before Halloween and "Fantasy of Lights" parade in late November. The Howell Melon Festival is a yearly festival of the Howell melon, a succulent hybrid cantaloupe acknowledged as growing only in the region, draws approximately 50,000 visitors each year.

Livingston Arts Council (LAC), founded in 1989, calls Howell home. It is a non-profit organization devoted to the growth and endorsement of quality arts and cultural programs. Events such as parties and weddings are held at the renovated Howell Opera House. Built in 1881, the first floor is used by the association and the public for an assortment of community and private activities. It is a great location for a winter wedding when you need to be indoors or just an awesome place to tour.
