AC Installation in Flint, MI
Reviews
There are currently no reviews.
In Flint, a lot of our AC installations fall into two groups. Some homeowners are adding central air for the first time to an older house. Others are replacing an aging R-22 system that has started leaking. Schutz Heating & Cooling handles both, and we'll be upfront about what your home needs to get good results.
Adding Central Air to an Older Home
If your home has a forced-air furnace, adding central air usually means installing an indoor coil on top of the furnace, an outdoor unit and a refrigerant line set between them. Before we quote, we check:
- Whether the furnace blower can move enough air for cooling
- Whether the ducts, especially upstairs, can deliver it
- Whether your electrical panel has room for a new circuit
If the furnace is near the end of its life, replacing both at once is often the better deal.
Replacing an R-22 System
R-22 is no longer made, so repairing leaks in older systems keeps getting more expensive. A new system uses a current refrigerant, costs less to run and comes with a full warranty. See our air conditioner options.
Paying for It
A new system is a big purchase. We offer financing so you can spread out the cost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add central air if I have a boiler?
Yes, but without ducts, a ductless system is usually the more practical option.
How much does central air cost?
It depends on the size of your home, the equipment and how much ductwork needs to change. We give free, written estimates.
